The fine print
Last updated — August 21, 2026. Plain language, so you always know what you're agreeing to.
Talk Society offers Grace, an AI companion who makes outbound phone calls on the schedule you arrange to a loved one you choose — usually an elderly parent — and who can also speak with them when they call Grace, to talk, listen, and keep them company. Grace is powered by OpenAI's latest speech-to-speech voice technology, with natural turn-taking and the ability to be gently interrupted. Grace gives the full disclosure — including that she is an AI companion and not a human being — on the first consent hello; later companion calls are ordinary conversations, and she answers honestly whenever she's asked and never pretends to be a human or a family member.
Grace is companionship, not care. Talk Society is not a medical, emergency, or crisis service, does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice, and is not a substitute for a licensed professional, a caregiver, or emergency responders. The call text and gentle wellbeing heads-up we send the family are a courtesy, not monitoring you should rely on for safety.
You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a binding agreement to subscribe. By signing up, you confirm that you are authorized to arrange these calls to the person who will receive them, and that the phone number and payment details you provide are yours to use.
The person receiving the calls is always in control. There is nothing for them to install or sign: on a short hello call they place to Grace, she explains who she is and asks the recipient to agree. Their agreement starts Grace's calls; the payer's first 14 days are free and their card is first charged 14 days later. The recipient can pause or stop the calls immediately simply by telling Grace. That stops outbound calls but does not by itself cancel the paid subscription. They can also change when Grace calls them — moving just their next call, or the time of every call from then on — by asking her on any call, and we text the family member who pays to tell them what changed. Changing which days Grace calls, the conversation topics, or anything to do with the subscription remains with the family member who pays. The family member who pays must separately cancel the subscription and future billing by calling Grace at 1-888-301-4275. If they cannot receive the private confirmation text or cannot reach the buyer menu, they can email hello@talksociety.app for assisted cancellation.
Talk Society is a monthly subscription. Standard is $97 per month and includes 300 connected companion minutes plus up to one call from Grace on each chosen day. Premium is $297 per month and includes 1,200 connected companion minutes plus up to three calls from Grace in one day, with call times at least one hour apart. Each allowance follows the plan's exact Stripe subscription billing period. Planned call duration is a pacing target derived from the remaining pool and schedule, not a per-call maximum; a conversation can continue while included or separately authorized Extra Time remains. On both tiers, ordinary calls the recipient places after consent use the shared pool and do not replace or alter Grace's calls. The short initial hello used only to capture consent uses no included time. Your first 14 days are free. When you authorize a plan we save your card and charge it $0. Grace's calls begin as soon as the recipient consents, and your card is charged for the first time 14 days after that consent, then monthly, unless you cancel first. We send you a reminder before that first charge. If you cancel at any point during those 14 days, you are never charged for the plan at all. Extra Time is unavailable during the free 14 days, so no usage charge can arise before your first monthly payment. The free 14 days are available once per person receiving the calls: a later plan for the same recipient begins billing at consent.
On both tiers, we count connected conversation time on the companion calls Grace places and ordinary post-consent companion calls the recipient places to Grace, totaled by the second. Ringing, unanswered calls, voicemail, the one-time consent hello, calls the payer makes to set up or manage Grace, and service failures that never establish a usable connection do not count. Once connected, elapsed conversation time counts even if the call later drops or errors. The included allowance resets with the plan's Stripe subscription billing period, not the calendar month. We send separate notices only to the payer when 75%, 90%, and 100% of the included time has been used and, when Extra Time is on, when 75%, 90%, and 100% of the selected Extra Time cap has been used. We never discuss usage, the allowance, prices, caps, invoices, payment, or upgrading with the recipient.
Extra Time is off by default. The payer may separately authorize connected time above the plan allowance at 40¢ per minute on Standard or 25¢ per minute on Premium, prorated by the second, and choose a finite billing-period Extra Time cap of $50, $100, or $200. This is separate from authorizing the monthly plan. We never charge Extra Time without the payer's affirmative authorization, and we never charge above the payer's selected cap. Extra Time used during a billing period is added to that plan's next Stripe subscription invoice. Turning Extra Time off or lowering a cap does not erase charges for connected time already used. Calls do not stop at their planned target. When no included or authorized time remains, later calls wait until the next billing period or until the payer authorizes more. Grace begins a warm funded-time goodbye before exhaustion; if the conversation is still going, the connection ends at the exact funded or subscription-period boundary.
We may show the payer a private, dismissible recommendation that Premium could fit better based only on bounded operational facts such as a forecast of allowance exhaustion, a forecast that Standard will reach its maximum 800-minute, $297 plan-plus-Extra-Time capacity, or the payer asking for more than one call from Grace a day. We do not use conversation content, summaries, memories, topics, sentiment, mood, health, distress, loneliness, relationship details, wellbeing, or safety events for that recommendation, and we do not send automated promotional recommendation texts. A recommendation changes nothing and is not permission to charge. If an existing-plan upgrade is available, only the authenticated payer can separately confirm it, after an exact private review states when Premium entitlement and the $297 monthly price would begin. Until that confirmation succeeds, nothing changes. An explicit payer request by voice may receive a secure confirmation link only when that upgrade route is available.
Your plan renews automatically each month until you cancel, and the subscription fee is billed in advance for the coming month. You can cancel anytime — there is no contract. Once cancellation is recorded, Grace's calls stop and we stop future billing; service does not continue through the rest of the paid month. Cancelling during the free first 14 days costs nothing and no plan charge is ever made. After the first charge, any authorized Extra Time already used remains payable after cancellation, and except where required by law, monthly fees are non-refundable for partial months. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change with notice; a change will not affect the month you have already paid for.
The merchant of record for your subscription is Blockster Media & Technology LLC, 1111 Lincoln Road, Suite 500, Miami Beach, FL 33139, United States. Blockster authorizes and charges your payment card; the configured statement descriptor is TALK SOCIETY. Card details are handled by our payment processor; Talk Society never sees your full card number. You are responsible for any mobile carrier or data charges related to the calls and messages.
Please use Talk Society only for its intended purpose — friendly telephone companionship for someone you care about. Do not use the service for anything illegal, to harass, deceive, or harm anyone, to arrange calls to a person who has not agreed to receive them, to impersonate someone, or to try to break, overload, resell, or reverse-engineer the service. We may suspend or end access that is abusive, fraudulent, or unsafe.
Grace is not a doctor, nurse, therapist, or emergency responder, and nothing she says is medical advice or a diagnosis. Do not rely on Grace, the call text, or the wellbeing heads-up in place of professional care or emergency help. If your loved one is in danger, having a medical emergency, or thinking about harming themselves, call your local emergency number or a crisis line right away. Do not expect Grace to do it: she is a companion, she does not detect emergencies, and she will not direct anyone to a crisis line.
Grace is not crisis monitoring, supervision, or an emergency service, and Talk Society does not run automated crisis detection on companion calls. She is a companion who talks and listens. She is not watching for emergencies, she cannot summon help, and no one at Talk Society listens to calls as they happen. Never wait for Grace, an alert, or a call summary if someone may be in danger: contact your local emergency number, a crisis line, local emergency services, or a qualified professional directly.
The short hello used to capture the recipient's agreement is not shared with you as an audio recording. Talk Society keeps the written transcript of that hello as the record of the recipient's agreement, so what was explained and what they said is preserved in their own words. When a decision is recorded, that record also includes the decision, timestamp, and verified disclosure results. For a verified agreement, it also includes the consent-session reference and a keyed audit attestation that the spoken agreement was verified. If the recipient agrees, the companion calls Grace places are recorded and a transcript is stored to help Grace remember past conversations, keep you in the loop, and support quality and safety. Grace explains that you, the family member who set up the calls, can listen to those recordings and read those transcripts. This covers companion calls in both directions: the calls Grace places and ordinary post-consent calls the recipient places to Grace are recorded, transcribed, remembered, and summarized alike. Agreement is required before Grace places any companion call. You can ask us to delete stored companion conversations at any time, and we'll erase them — that erasure includes the hello transcript. The consent record itself (the decision, when it was made, and what was disclosed) is retained to document the recipient's decision. How we handle conversations and data is described in our Privacy and Trust & privacy pages, which form part of these terms.
Talk Society is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Blockster Media & Technology LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the service, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any right you cannot waive under applicable law.
We may update these terms as the service evolves. If we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know. Continuing to use Talk Society after a change means you accept the updated terms.
